教会学校的她让属灵的生活成为基调，在自身中体会圣经与佛经所说并无对立

自幼就读于教会女子学校，受到严格的天主教和基督教经典与仪规训练。一直把属灵的生活，视作理所当然。毕业于伯克利大学念电机工程专业，就职于IBM十多年，后做地产经纪二十多年。因家人信仰供奉祖先，在陪同家人前往佛堂并帮忙做义工的过程中，接触到佛经。丰富的人生经历中，属灵的习惯让她诸事严于律已，在与佛教徒的接触中，并没有觉得对方的行为与幼年所受的教育有相违之处。切身体会只要把经典落实到自身，而不是要求别人，圣经与佛经所说，并无对立。杨老师愿以自身相融的东西方文化经历，为禅学院的学生，搭建东西方文化沟通的桥梁。

Monica Yeung， general education

Monica Yeung Arima grew up in religiousgirls' school from preschool to high school, deeply influenced by Catholic andChristian bible studies education. My spiritual living is becoming as part ofmy everyday living life style. I graduated from UC Berkeley majoring inElectrical Engineering and Computer Science.  After graduation, I spent more than a decade working for IBM in softwaredevelopment and marketing. For the last two decades, I am working in RealEstate in the San Francisco Bay Area. My parents paid their respects to ourancestors by worshipping at home and visiting Buddhist temples. With myfamily's influence and volunteering experience at the Buddhist temple, I havethe opportunity to learn more about Buddhism and its teaching. My livingexperience and my spiritual practice set my life apart to be very disciplineand loving. With the encountering of many Buddhist practitioners, it makes merealized that the teaching of both religions is very similar and it doesn't goagainst each other's religious philosophy. I am willing to share my 40 years of"East meet West" experience with the students of CHAN center. Hence,I am hoping to create a bridge for the "East meet West" cultureexchange opportunity for all of you.
